Resideo’s Honeywell Home ElitePRO wins two key international design awards for innovation and customisation

The Honeywell Home ElitePRO smart thermostat has been honoured with the 2026 Red Dot and iF Design Awards, recognising its blend of aesthetic appeal, usability, and integration into modern connected homes.

Resideo’s Honeywell Home ElitePRO smart thermostat has picked up two major international design prizes, adding the 2026 Red Dot Design Award in Product Design and the 2026 iF Design Award in Building Technology to its profile. The recognition places the device among a small group of connected home products judged not only on appearance, but also on usability, function and integration into everyday domestic life.

According to the Red Dot jury, the thermostat stands out for its gently rounded casing, available in black or white, and a touchscreen that can be tailored with different layouts, seven accent colours and optional information such as weather and time. The iF Design Award description also highlights the product’s soft form and customisable idle screen, which can show a five-day forecast, analogue or digital clock settings and indoor air quality data. Resideo says the goal is to make the thermostat feel less like a static control and more like part of the home’s interior design.

The company has also linked the product’s design to broader connected-home features, including indoor air quality monitoring, proactive HVAC insights and integration with compatible smart devices. In a statement, Marty Ellingson, senior director and head of global experience at Resideo, said: “The ElitePRO thermostat doesn’t just control temperature – it’s the heartbeat of the modern home, turning a functional thermostat into a personalized home companion,” adding that it “shapes comfort, reflects personal style and quietly drives efficiency behind the scenes.” Resideo said the awards build on Honeywell Home’s 130-year heritage while reflecting its current emphasis on design-led smart home equipment.
