Google has pre-empted its 2026 hardware showcase by unveiling the Pixel 11 family early, featuring a powerful new Tensor G6 chip, advanced AI camera features, and a foldable model, signalling a shift towards integrated AI and premium hardware in its ecosystem.
Google has moved up its 2026 hardware reveal by confirming the Pixel 11 family before its evening keynote in New York, with pre-orders opening in the morning and shipments expected from 20 August. According to Android Central and TechRadar, the company is launching four phones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The base model now starts at 256GB, ending the 128GB tier, while pricing begins at $899 and rises to $1,899 for the foldable.
The new range centres on Tensor G6, which Google says brings a faster neural processing pipeline, stronger efficiency and better support for on-device AI. Android Central reports that the chip powers the full line-up, with RAM starting at 12GB on the Pixel 11 and rising to 16GB on the Pro models. Google is also leaning on larger batteries, brighter displays and faster charging, with peak brightness said to reach 3,600 nits. The company has paired those gains with a sharper design language, including edge-to-edge glass camera bars and, on Pro models, a new HiLight notification LED.
Camera hardware also gets a substantial refresh. Android Central says the Pro devices add a stronger triple-camera system, 120x zoom and a 42MP front camera, while T3 reports that the base Pixel 11 uses a 48MP main sensor and the Pro variants move to a 50MP main camera with 48MP zoom. Google is pitching AI-assisted imaging features such as Magic Capture, Pro Stable Video, instant Night Sight and a built-in teleprompter, all tied to Gemini Intelligence on Android 17. TechRadar adds that the software layer extends to live video translation, improved voice-to-text through Rambler and a more capable Circle to Search.
The foldable model is being positioned as a more refined version of Google’s previous attempt. T3 says the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is slimmer and lighter than earlier generations, while TechRadar and Android Central both note that it sits at the top of the range at $1,899. Google is also continuing its wider push on sustainable materials, with Android Central saying recycled components remain central to the design story. For buyers weighing alternatives, the pitch is straightforward: more storage, more AI and a broader spread of premium hardware across the line.
Google has also widened the colour palette. T3 reports that the Pixel 11 comes in Obsidian, Frost, Pistachio and Hibiscus, while the Pro and Fold models are offered in Obsidian, Fog, Olive and a new Canyon finish. TechRadar says the company is already pushing pre-order promotions through its own store and major carriers, with trade-in deals varying by market. That suggests Google is using launch incentives to soften the impact of higher starting prices, particularly for customers moving up from earlier Pixel models.
The event itself is set for 6 p.m. ET and will be streamed live, with Google also expected to show the Pixel Watch 5 and possibly the Pixel Tag. Tom’s Guide says the watch will bring more RAM, more storage and additional health features, but its design should remain close to the current model. It also notes that the Pixel Tag is expected to work with Google’s Find Hub network. In practical terms, Google is presenting this launch as more than a phone refresh: it is trying to connect hardware, AI and device tracking into a single ecosystem.
