Google’s Pixel 11 range introduces significant camera advancements, including up to 120x zoom and 8K video upscaling, driven by the new Tensor G6 chip, with a focus on software-enhanced imaging for creators and casual users alike.
Google’s Pixel 11 range has arrived with a familiar design, but the camera system has been given a substantial overhaul, led by the new Tensor G6 chip. At Google’s Made by Google 2026 event on 13 August, the company positioned the phones as a clear step forward for mobile photography and video, with most of the visible gains focused on software-assisted imaging rather than hardware changes.
The biggest changes are tied to the upgraded image signal processor and Google’s latest imaging models. Google says the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold can now reach up to 30x zoom, while the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL extend that to 120x. That pushes the Pro models beyond the 100x Pro Zoom ceiling highlighted on Google’s camera feature pages for earlier Pixel devices, suggesting the company is leaning even harder on computational photography to recover detail at long range.
Video is a major area of emphasis. The Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold can now upscale footage to 8K through Video Boost, while the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL add stronger stabilisation under the Video Stabilisation Pro label. Google also says those two models include a faster Night Sight mode for low-light recording, which is intended to improve shooting speed in darker conditions without sacrificing too much image quality.
Google is also targeting creators rather than only casual users. A new Creator Suite adds tools such as an on-screen teleprompter during recording and project-based video management, making the phone more useful for scripted content and organised editing workflows. Tech-focused previews of the Pixel 11 had already pointed to advanced cinematic blur, low-light video features and on-device processing improvements, and Google’s launch confirms that video capture is now one of the main reasons to consider the new range.
Pricing starts at ¥136,800 for the Pixel 11, rising to ¥174,800 for the Pixel 11 Pro, ¥207,800 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL and ¥279,900 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Google is again offering trade-in deals and store credit through its own shop, which may make the direct route more attractive for buyers already using an older Pixel.
