Xiaomi has opened registration for the HyperOS 4 beta, starting in China with a phased launch across eligible devices, signalling an upcoming global release of its custom operating system designed to enhance multitasking and device integration.
Xiaomi has opened registration for the HyperOS 4 beta, setting out a staged launch for eligible devices in China and signalling that a wider international timetable will follow later. The company has divided the test programme into three waves, with the first due to begin on 14 August. According to Xiaomi, the beta is intended for devices already in its ecosystem, but it remains a development build and may contain unfinished features or stability issues.
The first wave includes the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17, along with the Redmi K90 Pro Max, Redmi K90 Pro Max Champion Edition and Redmi K90. Tablets in the same group are the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 8. Xiaomi said the schedule currently applies only to users in China, with global availability to be announced separately.
A second batch is due on 27 August and includes the Xiaomi 17 Max, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra Dual Satellite Edition, Xiaomi 15S Pro, Xiaomi 15 Pro and Xiaomi 15. That wave also covers the Redmi K90 Max and Redmi K90 Supreme Edition, plus the Redmi K Pad 2. The third wave, set for 17 September, adds the Redmi K100 Pro Max, Redmi K100 Pro, Redmi K80 Pro, Redmi K80 Supreme Edition and Redmi K80, alongside the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5.
Users with eligible devices can apply through the beta testing centre inside the Xiaomi Community app. HyperOS is Xiaomi’s custom operating system, and the company’s official materials describe features such as multitasking tools, workstation-style functions and other model-specific capabilities that vary by region and handset. Earlier reporting from Gizmochina also noted that Xiaomi has been testing HyperOS updates in China and abroad, with a pattern of phased roll-outs that can differ from market to market.
