ASUS ROG has introduced the Gjallar, a versatile gaming soundbar featuring surround sound, a wireless subwoofer, and advanced connectivity, aimed at enhancing immersive audio experiences for gamers across platforms.
ASUS Republic of Gamers has expanded its audio line-up with the ROG Gjallar, a compact gaming soundbar that combines surround sound, a separate wireless subwoofer and built-in microphones in a single desktop-friendly system. The company says the device is aimed at players who want a cleaner alternative to a full speaker set-up without giving up spatial audio or voice-chat tools.
At the heart of the system is a 2.1.2-channel layout built around four 50mm full-range drivers, two 27mm tweeters and upward-firing channels, with Dolby Atmos support intended to add height and directionality to compatible games, films and music. A 6.5-inch, 65W wireless subwoofer handles low frequencies and connects over 5GHz, which ASUS says is meant to keep latency low while giving users more freedom over placement.
Connectivity is broad for a product of this type. ASUS lists HDMI 2.1 with eARC, USB-C, optical, AUX and Bluetooth 5.3, alongside compatibility with Windows PCs, Macs, televisions, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. HDMI 2.1 also enables 4K at 120Hz pass-through, while two USB Type-A ports are included for peripherals such as dongles or storage devices.
The soundbar is paired with a separate control hub that houses playback and input controls, EQ presets and RGB lighting options, with settings also available through ASUS Gear Link in a web interface or mobile app. ASUS says the hub’s microphones use Acoustic Echo Cancellation and beamforming to improve speech pickup and reduce noise from speakers, fans and other background sources. The system is due to reach the Philippines in September 2026 at a listed price of PHP33,490, according to ASUS and reporting from Gadgetsmagazine, Notebookcheck and TechRadar.
