The OnePlus 15 introduces a 7,300mAh battery, a refreshed LTPO display, and upgraded software features, setting a new standard for power users and mainstream consumers alike.
The OnePlus 15 is positioned as a performance-first flagship with enough battery life, charging speed and software flexibility to appeal to power users as well as mainstream buyers. TechRepublic’s cheat sheet says the device combines a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with a 6.78-inch LTPO display, a 7,300mAh battery and OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, while US pricing starts at $899.99. Android Central’s review backs up that emphasis, describing the phone as a meaningful step up from its predecessor with a faster chip, stronger endurance and a more durable body.
The display is one of the phone’s most notable upgrades. OnePlus says the panel uses LTPO technology to vary refresh rates between 1Hz and 120Hz to conserve power, while supported games can run at up to 165Hz. The screen also reaches 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode and can dim to as little as 1 nit or 0.5 nit for low-light use. Android Central also points to the panel as a strength, though it notes that the overall design is more restrained than some earlier OnePlus models.
Battery and charging are central to the appeal. OnePlus says the 7,300mAh cell uses silicon-carbon chemistry to preserve capacity in a relatively slim handset, and the company claims that wired charging in markets with 120W SUPERVOOC can take the phone from 1% to full in about 39 minutes under test conditions. Android Central reports that the phone also supports 50W wireless charging, but a separate piece from the site says it does not support Qi2 magnetic charging because OnePlus chose to leave out built-in magnets in favour of the larger battery. That trade-off underscores the company’s broader priorities.
Camera and software round out the package. TechRepublic says the rear setup includes 50-megapixel main, ultrawide and 3.5x telephoto cameras, plus a 32-megapixel front camera, with features such as Clear Burst, Clear Night Engine, Dolby Vision video and O-Log aimed at both casual and more advanced shooters. Android Central gives the camera system a more mixed assessment, saying some sensors have been downgraded even as overall image quality improves. On software, global models ship with OxygenOS 16, while Chinese versions use ColorOS. OnePlus also highlights a set of AI tools, including transcription, translation, search and photo editing, and TechRepublic reports that software plans remain in flux as OnePlus tests ColorOS 17 and Android 17 builds in selected markets.
