Google has launched its 2026 Pixel lineup, unveiling the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, focusing on refined design, innovative camera features, brighter screens, and extended battery life, supported by the new Tensor G6 chip and Android 17.
Google has unveiled its 2026 Pixel line-up, with the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL now on sale or available to pre-order depending on model and retailer. The new family centres on the Tensor G6 chip, Android 17 and a broader set of Gemini features, with Google also pushing a stronger camera story, longer battery life and brighter displays across the range. Android Central and What Hi-Fi? both say the series is built around refinement rather than a wholesale redesign, but the Pro handsets add the most visible changes.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL keep Google’s familiar rear camera bar, though the design now appears more integrated into the frame. TechRadar reports that the Pro models also introduce HiLight, an ambient LED system around the flash that can signal calls and Gemini activity with custom colours. That same source says the feature is one of the most distinctive additions to the series, even if the overall silhouette remains recognisably Pixel.
Display hardware has been stepped up as well. According to Google’s announcement as covered by What Hi-Fi?, the Pixel 11 Pro uses a 6.3in LTPO OLED panel while the Pro XL gets a 6.8in screen, both with adaptive 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rates and peak brightness of 3,600 nits. The standard Pixel 11 uses a 6.3in Actua OLED panel with a 60Hz to 120Hz range and a lower peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The same report says Google has also added stronger scratch resistance to the latest displays.
Camera upgrades are a major part of the pitch. Android Central says the Pro models pair a new 50MP main sensor with a 42MP selfie camera and telephoto zoom reaching 120x, while the standard Pixel 11 still gains a triple-camera array with a dedicated 5x telephoto lens. Google has also introduced Magic Capture, which records a moment as both video and stills before auto-selecting and refining the best frames. Alongside that, Gemini gains practical tools such as cleaner voice-to-text transcription, live translation for videos, podcasts and voice messages, and Circle to Search inside the Camera app.
Battery claims are equally bold. Android Central and What Hi-Fi? both say Google is promising more than 30 hours of use, with the Pro XL getting the largest battery in the range and support for faster wired charging and Pixelsnap magnetic wireless charging. Google has also committed to seven years of operating system, security and Pixel Drop updates, which keeps the phones in line with the company’s long support cycle. Pricing starts at £879 for the Pixel 11, £1,079 for the Pixel 11 Pro and £1,279 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, with storage now beginning at 256GB across the series.
