The Gekom IT13 Max defies its small size to pack impressive performance, extensive ports, and versatile connectivity, challenging traditional desktops for productivity and creative tasks.
The Geekom IT13 Max is a very small desktop that still aims to behave like a full workstation. According to a hands-on review by Microsiervos, its size makes it easy to place on a desk or mount behind a monitor, but its appeal lies in the unusual number of ports and the level of performance packed into such a compact case. Geekom positions it as a machine for productivity, media use and light creative work, while third-party reviews have broadly echoed that view.
Physically, the system is tiny enough to disappear into a workspace, measuring 136×132×50.1 mm and weighing 832 grams without the power supply, according to Microsiervos. The outer shell is plastic, but the chassis is metal to aid cooling, with large ventilation areas at the side and rear. Geekom says its IceBlast 3.0 cooling design can dissipate up to 65 watts quietly, and the reviewer found that to be largely borne out in normal office use, although the fan becomes audible in games and heavier loads.
Connectivity is one of its main selling points. Geekom lists four front USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, including one with power delivery, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a rear pair of USB4 ports, dual HDMI outputs, USB-A ports, dual 2.5GbE Ethernet, Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The company also says the IT13 Max can drive up to four 8K displays. Microsiervos noted that the box includes only a HDMI cable, and that there is no built-in speaker.
Inside, the machine uses Intel’s Core Ultra 9 185H, a 16-core, 22-thread processor with integrated Arc graphics and a dedicated AI neural processing unit. ITPro reported strong benchmark results for the same chip in this model, describing the IT13 Max as competitive with larger systems in single-core and multi-core work. Microsiervos said that, despite the processor being a late-2023 part, it is more than adequate for office work, web use, media playback and photo editing, with 4K video editing and some games also within reach.
The review sample came with 24GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 500GB Kingston PCIe 4.0 SSD, though Geekom also offers a 1TB version with 16GB of RAM. The memory is soldered, so it cannot be upgraded later, but storage can be expanded, including via a vacant M.2 SATA 2242 slot. Geekom says the IT13 Max carries a three-year warranty and 24/7 support. Pricing is listed at €1,199, although Geekom and Amazon have both offered it at €799, with an extra discount available through a promotional code mentioned by Microsiervos.
