India’s consumer-tech landscape shifts with broadest launch wave in years, led by AI-powered laptops and smart appliances

This week’s diverse product launches span from AI-enhanced laptops and gaming systems to smart washing machines and premium display TVs, signalling a major shift in India’s tech market focus.

This week’s crop of consumer-tech launches in India was unusually broad, ranging from laptops and televisions to home appliances, audio gear and a niche DAC with valves inside. Acer was among the most active names, with a refreshed portfolio spanning mainstream, productivity and gaming machines, while Haier drew attention with a washing machine that replaces the usual control dial with a tilted touchscreen. Hisense, boAt, Noise and Rapoo also added new products to their respective ranges.

Acer’s latest India push sits within a wider refresh of its AI PC and laptop portfolio. The company has recently expanded its Aspire AI Copilot+ line globally with new laptops and all-in-ones, while India has now seen additions across the Aspire, Swift, Nitro and Predator families. In the domestic market, the range stretches from the more affordable Aspire 3 to higher-spec Nitro and Predator gaming systems, showing how the brand is segmenting the market by use case rather than treating AI features as a single premium category.

The Aspire 3 is pitched at entry-level buyers, while the Aspire Pro and Swift Pro target users who want more powerful everyday laptops in lighter designs. Acer’s gaming line goes further, with Nitro 5 and Nitro 5 Pro models built around 16-inch high-refresh displays and Intel HX-class processors, alongside new Predator Helios Neo variants for users looking for more expensive graphics performance. Earlier Acer announcements this year also pointed to a broader shift towards slimmer AI-focused designs, including Snapdragon-powered machines and new Intel-based Swift and Predator models.

Haier’s F17 washer-dryer stands out because of its interface as much as its cleaning features. The company says the angled screen is meant to simplify operation, while its AI Wash system analyses fabric, load and stain type before suggesting a programme. The machine also includes Smart Dosing, Steam Wash, stain-specific cleaning modes, Wi-Fi connectivity and a washer-dryer function, placing it firmly in the premium smart-home category rather than the standard appliance segment.

In display and audio, Hisense has launched its UR8S RGB MiniLED televisions in India, with sizes from 55 inches to 75 inches and features such as a native 180Hz refresh rate and high peak brightness. boAt, meanwhile, has introduced the Aavante Bar Prime soundbar series, led by a 600W model with Dolby Atmos support and dual wired subwoofers. Noise has entered gaming audio with its first headset, the Clutch HP-P01, which pairs 2.4GHz wireless with Bluetooth 6.0 and claims sub-30ms latency, while Rapoo’s C500AF webcam adds 4K video, autofocus and a privacy cover for work setups.
