Samsung debuts 6K gaming monitor and immersive gear at Gamescom 2026

Samsung unveils its latest high-resolution gaming hardware, including the world’s first 6K gaming monitor, at Gamescom 2026, embracing a connected gaming ecosystem with new displays and immersive technologies.

Samsung is preparing a sizeable gaming showcase for Gamescom 2026, using the Cologne event to present its hardware as part of a connected gaming ecosystem rather than as isolated products. The company will occupy Hall 9 at Koelnmesse from 26 to 30 August, as Gamescom brings together roughly 1,500 exhibitors under the theme “Games Spark Excitement for the Future”. The format is designed to give visitors extensive hands-on time through demos, competitions and live activities, reflecting how gaming now spans PCs, consoles and mobile devices.

At the centre of the display is Samsung’s Odyssey range, led by the 32-inch Odyssey G8, which the company describes as the world’s first 6K gaming monitor. Samsung says the screen can run at 6K and 165Hz, or switch to a 3K mode at 330Hz for faster play, with Nvidia G-SYNC compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium support intended to reduce tearing and stutter. The monitor is being shown with Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert to highlight its high-resolution panel and HDR10+ GAMING support, while Samsung also plans to bring the 9100 PRO SSD, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the Odyssey 3D monitor, the Portable SSD T9, OLED televisions and JBL Quantum headsets.

The broader monitor story matters as much as the headline 6K panel. Samsung has recently unveiled a wider Odyssey line-up that includes five new displays, spanning 27-inch and 32-inch models across IPS and QD-OLED designs. The company has also promoted a glasses-free 3D model with eye tracking, dual-mode refresh rates and optimised 3D game support, alongside OLED options with HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 and USB-C connectivity. Tom’s Hardware reported prices in the United States ranging from $949.99 to $1,599.99 for the new 2026 Odyssey line-up, underlining how premium these products are positioned to be.

Gamescom will also serve as a practical test of how Samsung wants to present its gaming strategy in public. The programme includes Sonic titles, product demos and a cosplay runway, while the #PlayGalaxy Cup World Finals on 27 and 28 August will put mobile gaming front and centre. Samsung says ten teams will compete after qualifying across North America, Latin America, Europe, South-East Asia and South-West Asia, with the PUBG Mobile event intended to showcase Galaxy smartphone performance in a live competitive setting rather than in a specification sheet.
