Lutron has added voice control to its Caséta smart home range through Sonos Voice Control, closing a long-standing gap between the two systems. The move means users can now use spoken commands to manage lights, shades and Sonos playback without opening an app or reaching for a handset.
The integration matters because Caséta is built around a dedicated hub that communicates with switches, dimmers and plugs over a radio signal rather than relying on Wi-Fi at every device. According to Sonos support material, the new voice link was made available on 20 July 2026 and is designed to work with lighting, blinds and scenes through supported Lutron systems. Sonos also says the feature is limited to certain platforms, with Caséta support listed as coming soon in its regional help pages.
In practical terms, the system lets users trigger linked actions by speaking to a Sonos speaker with a microphone built in. Sonos says the setup is handled through the Lutron app by opening the Integrations menu, selecting Sonos and enabling Sonos Voice Control. The company also says Sonos products are assigned to specific Home Control rooms, so commands will apply to the pre-set room unless the user changes the assignment manually.
Lutron’s own kit pricing still places the entry point within reach of many DIY users. The company says its starter bundles begin at $94.95 for a Smart Switch Kit, while Smart Dimmer and Lamp Dimming Plug kits cost $99.95 each and a Diva Dimmer Kit is priced at $119.95. All of them include the Smart Hub needed for voice-enabled control.
