Keychron introduces the C100, a dense 100-key mechanical macro pad designed for streamers, editors, and professional users seeking extensive customisation and macro functionality in a compact, USB-C connected device.
Keychron’s C100 is a large mechanical macro pad built for users who need far more than the usual handful of extra keys. The device offers 100 programmable switches in a compact square layout, making it a specialist accessory for streamers, editors and other power users who rely on repeated shortcuts and macros.
The pad measures 19.7 by 19.7 centimetres and connects over USB-C. Keychron fits it with linear Apex Red switches, while also giving buyers hot-swap sockets so the switches can be replaced without soldering. The company says the case includes noise-damping layers, and the switches use POM plastic housings, both intended to improve the feel and sound of the board.
The keycaps use an ASA profile and are made from semi-transparent plastic, which allows the RGB lighting to shine through. There is no printed labelling on the keys, so users must assign and remember every function themselves. Keychron says the C100 can be configured through QMK firmware and its own web app, with key remapping, macros and lighting controls available through the software stack. Its firmware pages and GitHub repository also show that the C100 sits within Keychron’s broader open-source customisation ecosystem.
At roughly $65 before shipping and tax in Keychron’s web shop, the C100 is not a general-purpose add-on. It is aimed at people who already know they need a dense block of programmable keys for a specific workflow. For anyone without that use case, the better-value choice is probably to keep using the shortcuts already built into the keyboard and software they own.
