Samsung introduces the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G, emphasising durability, software features, and targeting Gen Z users seeking practical mid-range devices with advanced software and long-term support.
Samsung has framed its latest mid-range phones, the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G, around a simple idea: help younger buyers move from online aspiration to practical action. The company is pitching the pair at Gen Z users who want a device that can handle work, travel, social content and day-to-day organisation without the cost of a flagship handset.
The A57 5G sits above the A37 5G in the range and, according to Samsung’s specifications, uses a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an Exynos 1680 chip, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Samsung says it also carries a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 12-megapixel front camera, alongside a 5,000mAh battery, IP68 water and dust resistance and Android 16 with One UI 8.5.
The A37 5G follows a similar formula at a lower price point. PhoneArena’s specifications list a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, an Exynos 1480 processor, 6GB or 8GB of memory and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It also includes a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro lens, a 12-megapixel selfie camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging. The same report says the phone is IP68-rated and runs Android 16.
Samsung is also leaning heavily on software features it groups under Awesome Intelligence. These include Circle to Search with Google, which lets users identify products or objects on screen, and Gemini integration for app-based planning tasks. The company is also highlighting Voice Transcription in Notes, aimed at turning recorded meetings into text, which is a useful tool for students, freelancers and small-business users who need a fast way to capture information.
Durability and software support are central to the pitch. Samsung says the A57 5G and A37 5G use Samsung Knox Vault and are backed by six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The A57 5G is also described as Samsung’s thinnest A-series model so far at 6.9mm, while colour options include Navy, Grey, Icy Blue and Lilac for the A57, and Lavender, Charcoal, Graygreen and White for the A37.
In the Philippines, Samsung is pairing the launch with trade-in savings, a free travel adapter, a two-year Samsung Care+ extension and financing offers when bundled with Galaxy products. The promotion runs until September 30, 2026, and Samsung is also pointing buyers to the lower-cost Galaxy A07 5G for those looking for a cheaper entry into the range.
