Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max in China, boasting a large 6.9-inch OLED screen with a 185Hz refresh rate, a massive 9,070mAh battery, and advanced gaming features, signalling a new focus on high-end gaming and battery life in flagship devices.
Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max in China, positioning the new line as one of its most ambitious entries in the premium handset market this year. The Pro Max is the clear flagship, built around a large display, very high refresh rates and an unusually large battery for a device of this class, according to the company’s launch details and early coverage from AndroidPure and Cinco Días.
At the centre of the phone is a 6.9-inch OLED panel with a 185Hz refresh rate, a specification Xiaomi is using to appeal to gamers and heavy users who want smoother motion and faster perceived responsiveness. The company also says the display uses a new sub-pixel architecture designed to improve sharpness while lowering energy use, aiming to deliver near-2K visual quality without the same battery penalty.
Xiaomi’s display claims go further than resolution and refresh rate. It says the panel uses a revised pTSF system that improves green sub-pixel efficiency by about 20%, while also covering close to 90% of the BT.2020 colour space. The company has also claimed a 5.2% improvement in panel lifespan, underlining that it is trying to market the screen as a core technological differentiator rather than a standard OLED implementation.
Performance is led by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with a dedicated AI display chip for graphics processing and image features. Xiaomi has also highlighted a 480Hz touch sampling rate, a gaming antenna designed to reduce latency, and support for frame interpolation and super-resolution in games. That combination suggests the device is being pitched as a performance-first phone with extra emphasis on sustained responsiveness.
Battery life is another major selling point. Xiaomi has shown the Pro Max with a 9,070mAh battery, a figure that places it among the largest in the current Android flagship segment. The phone supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, while the camera system includes a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit. Xiaomi has also pointed to Bose-tuned audio as part of the premium package. Availability outside China has not yet been announced, and speculation about a possible POCO-branded version for other markets remains unconfirmed.
