Creative has moved into a niche that sits between cheap desktop speakers and full-sized studio monitors. The new XF1 are aimed at users who want better sound for a home office, mini PC or compact listening setup without giving over half a desk to their audio system. In that sense, they are a more practical answer to a common problem: decent sound usually means either poor quality or a bulky, expensive setup.
The XF1 are a compact 2.0 speaker system with a fully active two-way layout, separate amplification for each driver and DSP control, according to Creative and several launch reports. Each cabinet is small enough for a crowded desk, while the system combines two 3-inch woofers with two 3/4-inch tweeters. Creative specifies 72W RMS output and a frequency range from 55Hz to 40kHz, with official Hi-Res Audio certification. Reported connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C and a 3.5mm aux input, plus a dedicated subwoofer output for users who want more bass later.
The design is deliberately restrained. The speakers come in black or white, with cork angled stands that lift the drivers towards the listener and help reduce desk vibration. Creative has also added app-based control through its Nexus software, including EQ adjustment, which gives the XF1 more flexibility than many entry-level desktop speakers. That matters because the system is not priced as a budget impulse buy: launch reports place it at around SGD 249 or €159.99, depending on market.
That positions the XF1 as an enthusiast product for people who care about sound quality but still want a clean desk and a simple setup. The case for them is not that they are cheap, but that they offer a more polished alternative to the usual compromises in desktop audio: better engineering, modern inputs and enough output to handle music, films and general PC use without demanding a separate amplifier or a larger footprint.
