POCO prepares to launch high-end F9 series with flagship specs in Europe

POCO is set to introduce its high-end F9 Pro and F9 Ultra models to Europe, featuring flagship Snapdragon chips, advanced camera systems, and fast charging, aiming to compete with premium flagships at a lower price.

POCO is preparing to bring two new high-end phones to Europe, with the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra positioned as refreshed additions to its upper-tier range. According to the report from HWUpgrade, the pair is expected to be closely related to recent Xiaomi models sold in China, although with smaller batteries for the European versions.

The F9 Pro is said to use a 6.59-inch OLED display with QHD+ resolution and a peak refresh rate of 185Hz, while the F9 Ultra would move up to a 6.85-inch panel. Both models are tipped to include Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Under the bonnet, each device is expected to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a chip aimed at flagship-class performance, with several memory and storage variants likely to follow.

Battery capacity appears to be one of the main differences between the two. The F9 Pro is reported to come with a 6,330mAh cell, while the Ultra could carry an 8,050mAh battery. Both are expected to support 100W fast charging. Camera hardware is also described as ambitious, led by a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, with the Ultra offering 5x optical zoom and the Pro 2.5x. The ultra-wide camera is said to be 50 megapixels on the Ultra and 8 megapixels on the Pro.

Pricing in Europe is expected to start at €799 for the F9 Pro and €999 for the F9 Ultra. HWUpgrade says an introductory launch offer should be available, although full commercial details have not yet been disclosed. The broader positioning suggests POCO is continuing its strategy of undercutting mainstream flagships while borrowing heavily from Xiaomi’s domestic hardware platform.
