GIGABYTE introduces its high-end 16-inch GAMING A16 gaming laptop in Japan, featuring Intel’s Core Ultra 9 185H and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, tailored for gaming and AI applications, with exclusive launch offers for early buyers.
GIGABYTE has begun selling a direct-order version of its 16-inch GAMING A16 gaming laptop in Japan, pairing Intel’s Core Ultra 9 185H with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. The machine is offered through the company’s official notebook store, with the 16GB model priced at ¥264,800 and the 32GB version at ¥294,800.
The new configuration places the GAMING A16 in the upper tier of the series. According to GIGABYTE, the Core Ultra 9 185H brings a 16-core, 22-thread layout, while the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU is rated for up to 572 AI TOPS. Intel Arc graphics and an Intel AI Boost NPU are also built in, signalling that the system is being pitched not only for games but also for AI workloads, 4K video editing and other demanding tasks.
The display specification remains aligned with the rest of the line-up: a 16.0-inch WUXGA panel with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. The 16:10 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio are intended to improve workspace efficiency, while the 180-degree hinge makes the laptop easier to use in meetings or when sharing the screen.
Cooling and portability are central to the design. GIGABYTE says the laptop uses a dual-fan system with 134 blades and 3D VortX exhaust design, alongside AI-based cooling that can stop the fans completely under light load. The company also highlights Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, a Japanese keyboard with single-colour RGB backlighting, Dolby Atmos audio and USB PD 3.0 charging.
The launch also extends GIGABYTE’s broader GAMING A16 push in 2025 and 2026. The company announced earlier versions of the series in July 2025, then refreshed the range again this year with other 16-inch models using Intel Core i5-13420H and AMD Ryzen 7 170 processors, as well as RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 options. In reviews of the line, PC Gamer noted that the GAMING A16’s appeal lies in its design, battery life and software features, although it also pointed to power limits on some RTX 5060 configurations as a constraint on peak gaming performance.
GIGABYTE is bundling launch incentives with the Japanese direct-sale model. The first 30 buyers will receive an Anker 317 Charger with a 100W USB-C cable, while customers who purchase by 30 September will be entered into a draw for one of ten ¥10,000 QUO cards.
