Leaked listings indicate Samsung is preparing to unveil its new premium tablet, Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, featuring 5G connectivity, a large AMOLED display, and high-performance specifications, although the official release date remains unconfirmed.
Samsung appears to be moving closer to launching its next premium tablet family, after the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra surfaced in the Google Play Console’s supported devices list. The entry points to three model numbers: SM-X940 for a Wi-Fi-only version, and SM-X946B and SM-X946N for cellular variants, suggesting that 5G support will be part of the line-up in at least some markets. The listing also strengthens the view that the tablet range may arrive soon, although Samsung has not yet announced it publicly.
The appearance follows an earlier Google Play Console sighting for the Galaxy Tab S12+, which was listed with multiple regional variants, including Wi-Fi and 5G versions. Separate certification records in the GSMA IMEI database have also shown the Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+, but not a standard Tab S12 model, leaving open the question of whether Samsung plans a three-tier range or is concentrating on just the Plus and Ultra versions.
Performance leaks suggest that the Ultra will be built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. A Geekbench listing reported the device as SM-X946B, alongside 12GB of RAM and One UI 9 based on Android 17. The same benchmark post indicated an octa-core layout with four efficiency cores at 2.7GHz, three performance cores at 3.5GHz and one prime core reaching 4.21GHz, pointing to a high-end tablet aimed at productivity and multimedia use.
Earlier device information compiled by phone listings and leaks has pointed to a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, a dual rear-camera set-up and a 12MP front camera, with storage options potentially reaching 1TB. However, other reports have differed on the software and chipset mix, with some suggesting Android 16 or even an Exynos alternative. That leaves several details unresolved, but the weight of the recent listings now indicates that Samsung’s next large-screen tablet launch is approaching.
