Leaked details suggest Xiaomi is working on a new Pad 9 series featuring a larger battery and upgraded Snapdragon processors, with potential global availability on the horizon.
Xiaomi appears to be preparing a Pad 9 line-up that may again split into a standard model and a Pro version, according to several recent leaks. Gizmochina and Notebookcheck both say the tablets are being developed under the internal names “donghai” and “shuntian”, with Xiaomi yet to confirm the series publicly.
The most detailed leak points to the base Pad 9 carrying model numbers M656BA, 26103RP65G and 26103RP65I. The “G” suffix has been read as a sign of a global release, while the “2610” prefix suggests an October 2026 launch window. The Tech Outlook also reported that an alleged Pad 9 variant has appeared on China’s 3C certification site, which would fit a device moving closer to market.
Battery capacity is also said to be increasing. Multiple reports claim the standard Pad 9 will use a 9,720mAh battery, up from 9,200mAh in the Pad 8. That would make the new model one of Xiaomi’s larger tablets in this class and could improve endurance without requiring a much bigger chassis.
On performance, the current rumours point to a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 for the standard Pad 9 and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for the Pro version. Some reports suggest the Pro model may not reach every market, with India mentioned as a possible exception. As things stand, however, all of these details remain unconfirmed, and Xiaomi has not issued official specifications or a launch date.
