Google has begun rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9 for Pixel devices, signalling the final software refinement for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro before their support ends in October 2026, with stability fixes and tie-in to the September Pixel Feature Drop.
Google has started rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9 for Pixel phones, extending the quarterly platform release programme even as the stable version moves closer. The latest beta is available to devices from the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro through the Pixel 10 range, including the Pixel 10a, while the Pixel 11 line is not yet supported because it has not officially launched, according to Droid Life and other reports. Google has also tied this build to a September Pixel Feature Drop, underlining that the QPR1 track remains active for current devices.
For owners of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the update may be especially notable. Droid Life said this is expected to be the final major software update for those models, which are due to reach end of life in October 2026. The beta therefore arrives at a late stage in the support cycle for Google’s older flagships, while still offering one more round of refinements before they leave the main update path.
Google’s changelog points to a set of stability fixes rather than new features. The company has addressed a navigation bug that could stop users switching apps from the bottom gesture bar after opening Circle to Search, as well as a fault that could trigger loud bursts of audio during media playback and notification activity. It has also fixed devices that could fall into a repeating reboot cycle, a foldable-specific problem in which taskbar icons disappeared when launching apps or entering bubble mode, and an issue linked to intermittent battery drain.
The build is identified as CP31.260623.012, with a 5 July 2026 security patch level and Google Play services version 26.22.36, according to the release notes cited by Droid Life. Users enrolled in the Android Beta Programme can install it directly, while OTA images are also available for those who prefer to flash manually.
