Wishtel launches the Ira Duo Pro 5G, a 12-inch Android device designed as a portable workstation, but its success hinges on hardware performance and software stability amidst mixed first impressions and uncertain specifications.
Wishtel has added another large-format Android 2-in-1 to the Indian market with the Ira Duo Pro 5G, a 12-inch device aimed at people who want something closer to a portable workstation than a conventional tablet. Gadgets 360’s first impressions suggest that the product is pitched as a laptop substitute, but its appeal will depend heavily on how well the software, keyboard and chipset hold up in longer use. The device is selling in India for under ₹45,000 through Amazon, although some product listings and Wishtel’s own material place it at a much lower figure, underlining how uneven the public pricing information currently is.
The retail package is unusually generous in one respect and uneven in another. According to Gadgets 360, the box includes a charger, a USB-to-HDMI cable, a folio cover with a keyboard and wired earphones, which means it is ready for basic desk use out of the box. Wishtel also offers an optional stylus, but that costs extra. In practice, however, the keyboard appears to be the weak link: the review described the keys as soft and imprecise, while the touchpad was said to feel stiff. The folio itself is also relatively bulky, and its textured exterior is reported to attract dirt easily. Wishtel’s own datasheet confirms that the keyboard and stylus are optional accessories.
On the tablet itself, the hardware presentation sounds more convincing than the accessories. The Ira Duo Pro 5G has a 12-inch Full HD display with a 2,000 x 1,200 resolution, and Gadgets 360 found it bright and sharp, if not best-in-class. Wishtel says the device weighs 690g and includes USB, AUX and SD card support, while the design splits the rear shell between a metal lower section and a plastic upper section. The camera setup is conventional for a work-first tablet, with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The front sensor should be adequate for video calls, including 1080p recording.
There is, however, some confusion around the core specifications. Gadgets 360 says the tablet uses an unnamed Unisoc octa-core chip running at up to 2.2GHz and ships with Android 16, while Wishtel’s datasheet lists 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and 5G with dual SIM support. Smartprix, by contrast, lists Android 13 and an 8,000mAh battery, and Wishtel’s own brand page also refers to an 8,000mAh cell, not the 10,000mAh unit mentioned in the review. That matters, because battery capacity and software version are central to a device that is being sold as a productivity machine. For now, the Ira Duo Pro 5G looks well equipped on paper, but its mixed specification trail and the lukewarm first impression of the keyboard leave open the question of whether it can genuinely replace a laptop.
