Motorola launches ultra-light Moto Pad 70 with productivity focus in India

Motorola introduces the Moto Pad 70 in India, emphasising its slim design, 5G connectivity, and productivity features, including a bundled stylus and keyboard support, aiming to challenge traditional tablets for work, study, and entertainment.

Motorola has opened sales in India for the Moto Pad 70, pitching the tablet as a thin, light 5G device aimed at people who want one product for work, study and entertainment. According to the company’s announcement, the 8GB/256GB model carries a launch price of ₹33,999, with an introductory bank offer reducing the effective cost to ₹29,999 on eligible cards. Sales began on 15 August through Flipkart, Motorola.in and selected retail stores.

The hardware is positioned around portability and display quality. Motorola says the tablet is 6.29mm thick and weighs 530g, making it, by its account, the slimmest and lightest 5G tablet in its class. It uses a 12.1-inch 2.5K panel with up to 800 nits of brightness, 96% DCI-P3 coverage and TÜV Rheinland certification, while quad speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio are intended to support media playback.

The company has also pushed the Moto Pad 70 as a productivity device rather than a simple media slate. It ships with the Moto Pen in the box and supports AI Writing Tools, AI Notes, Circle to Search with Google, Google Gemini and Smart Connect. Motorola also says the tablet can be paired with a Moto Folio keyboard with a magnetic attachment and a dedicated pen holder, turning it into a more laptop-like setup for typing and multitasking.

Inside, the Moto Pad 70 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with microSD expansion of up to 2TB. A 10,200mAh battery and 68W TurboPower charger are included, and Motorola claims up to 13 hours of YouTube playback under its test conditions. Earlier pre-launch reports had already pointed to the same core specifications, including 5G support, 530g weight and the bundled stylus.
