Vivo prepares for a wider rollout of its browserly anticipated OriginOS 7, featuring a design refresh and AI improvements, with support limited to recent flagship devices as the update moves beyond China.
vivo’s OriginOS 7 is moving from a China-only beta into a wider rollout plan, but the company has still not published a definitive global compatibility list. In the meantime, early reporting points to a narrow group of phones that are most likely to be first in line, with the update expected to reach global users after the current testing phase in China. According to Gizmochina, OriginOS 7 is also expected to arrive with deeper AI integration and broader customisation, alongside the more visible design refresh already being discussed.
The clearest pattern is that vivo is prioritising recent flagships and newer upper-mid-range devices. Based on current eligibility tracking, the vivo X200, X200 Pro, X200 FE, X100 and X100 Pro appear to be in scope, together with the V60, V60 Lite, V50, V50 Lite, V40 and V40 Pro, plus the Y31d. Other round-ups from Gizmochina, YTechB and TechPP suggest the wider list may eventually extend further, but those reports also make clear that device support is still being mapped as vivo finalises its release plans.
The software itself is expected to be a substantial visual overhaul. Reports describe a liquid glass-style interface with stronger highlights, shadows, refraction effects and more dynamic lighting. The update is also expected to sharpen transition animations, make app launches feel smoother, and add new themes and personalisation tools. For users on older models, the message is less encouraging: Gizmochina’s exclusion list suggests that several previous-generation X, V, T, Y and iQOO devices will not qualify, including some models that many owners may have assumed would still be supported.
Timing remains the other major uncertainty. vivo has not confirmed a global launch date, although current reporting suggests a beta outside China could begin around September, followed by a broader stable release from October or November, depending on the market. AndroidPure and Gizmochina both note that the present beta programme is limited to China and was opened only for selected devices, including the X300 Pro, X Fold 6, Pad 6 Pro, iQOO 15 and iQOO Pad 6 Pro. For Philippine users in particular, the rollout may arrive later than the first global wave, as release schedules often vary by region and handset.
