Google has launched a new Bluetooth Diagnostics feature for Pixel 6 and newer models, offering users a structured way to identify and resolve connection issues more efficiently, reducing the need for re-pairing or rebooting.
Bluetooth problems are often difficult to diagnose because they fail in ways that are not obvious. An accessory may appear to stay connected while refusing to play audio, a car system may handle music but not calls, or a wearable may drop out repeatedly without a clear cause. Google has now added a Bluetooth Diagnostics tool for Pixel phones, giving users a more structured way to identify what is going wrong before they start re-pairing devices or rebooting everything.
According to Engadget, the feature is available on Pixel 6 and newer handsets, including Fold models. Google’s support page says it can be reached through Settings, then Connected devices, then Bluetooth, where users will find Bluetooth diagnostics. The company also says the tool can share device details with Google, including the model, software version and Bluetooth settings, to help improve performance.
Several reports indicate that the diagnostics tool has been delivered through the Pixel Troubleshooting app and is intended to test different kinds of Bluetooth use, including media audio, calls and general connection faults. Android Authority and PhoneArena both reported that the feature can be found in Bluetooth settings, while Android Central said it may also appear under the Device health and support menu. The tool is meant to provide more specific guidance than the usual process of deleting paired devices and starting again.
That focus is practical. Bluetooth faults are especially frustrating in everyday use because they can involve multiple systems at once, from earbuds and watches to car infotainment units. By narrowing the problem down to a particular function, Google is trying to make the first stage of troubleshooting less guesswork and more diagnosis.
