Biwin has unveiled the UV200, an in-car USB flash drive aimed at drivers who rely on dashcams, parking surveillance and other always-on recording systems. The company is positioning the device as a better fit than a general-purpose memory stick for workloads that involve constant overwriting, using high-endurance TLC NAND flash and support for 24/7 Sentinel Mode recording.
According to Biwin’s specifications, the UV200 uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A connection and is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 200MB/s and write speeds of up to 80MB/s, with sustained write performance listed at 60MB/s. Some reports describe the interface as USB 3.2 Gen 1, but the performance figures and intended use case are consistent across the available product summaries. The drive will be sold in 128GB and 256GB versions, giving buyers a choice between shorter overwrite cycles and greater retention of recorded footage.
