Infinix is preparing to bring the HOT 70 Pro 5G to India, pitching it as an affordable handset that trades some display prestige for tougher construction and a longer list of practical features. The phone has already been unveiled globally, and the Indian rollout is expected via Flipkart and Infinix’s own online store in September, according to the company’s launch materials and reports from technology sites covering the device.
The main selling point is durability. Infinix says the HOT 70 Pro 5G carries MIL-STD-810H certification and IP68 water resistance, placing it above many budget rivals that still rely on lighter, more cosmetic builds. That should make it more attractive to commuters, outdoor workers, students and anyone likely to expose a phone to dust, rain or the occasional drop.
On the screen side, the company has opted for a 6.76-inch IPS LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate rather than the AMOLED display often associated with premium-feeling phones. That choice preserves smooth scrolling and responsive gaming, but it also means buyers give up the deeper blacks and stronger contrast that AMOLED typically provides. The company also claims UltraLink can support network-free communication over distances of up to 1.5 kilometres between compatible devices, a feature that could be useful where mobile coverage is weak or overloaded.
Under the bonnet, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, paired with a 6,000mAh battery and 45W charging. Infinix says that should deliver a full charge in about 63 minutes, with bypass charging included for users who want to game or stream while plugged in without putting as much strain on the battery. The rear camera is a 50-megapixel Sony sensor, while the front camera is 8-megapixel, suggesting that selfie quality is one of the more obvious compromises.
For India, the handset will run XOS 16 based on Android 16 and ship with three operating system upgrades and five years of security updates, according to the published specifications. It will come in Dive Blue, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple and Thermo Orange. For buyers who value battery life, sturdier construction and a few genuinely different features, the HOT 70 Pro 5G looks like a purposeful budget device rather than a style-first one.
