OnePlus’s High Performance mode is best understood as a deliberate trade-off. It pushes the phone’s CPU and GPU harder, trimming away battery-saving constraints in order to sustain peak output. That can matter in demanding workloads, but it also increases heat, shortens battery life and can still run into thermal limits if the device gets too hot. According to BGR, the mode sits inside Battery settings and is typically used by reviewers for benchmarking or stress testing rather than for ordinary daily use.
In practice, the setting is most useful when the handset is being asked to do something genuinely intensive.
