SK Telecom introduces the Galaxy Quantum7, a sleek, light mid-range handset featuring upgraded AI tools, enhanced camera capabilities, and flagship-grade durability, targeted at budget-conscious consumers seeking premium features.
SKT launches slimmer Galaxy Quantum7 with new AI tools
SK Telecom has launched the Galaxy Quantum7 as a SKT-exclusive handset, positioning it as a mid-premium model that combines a thin, light build with upgraded AI functions and faster charging. The device measures 6.9mm thick and weighs 179g, making it the slimmest and lightest model in the Quantum range and one of the more portable handsets in Samsung’s Galaxy A family, according to the company.
The phone adds several practical features aimed at everyday use. Among the most notable is Voice Transcript Assist, which converts voice recordings into text and can translate them. It also includes Google’s Circle to Search, Best Face for selecting the most suitable expression from motion photos, and AI Eraser for removing and filling in unwanted image elements. SKT said the camera system has been improved as well, with low-light noise reduction introduced for the first time in the Galaxy A series to sharpen photos and video in darker conditions.
Durability has also been strengthened. The Galaxy Quantum7 carries an IP68 rating, matching flagship-level protection against dust and water ingress. It is sold through T Direct Shop and T World stores nationwide in three colours: Awesome Grey, Awesome Iceblue and Awesome Lilac, with the last available only through T Direct Shop. The launch price is 717,200 won, and SKT is supporting sales with a series of promotions, including YouTube Premium and coffee vouchers for early buyers, plus extra online incentives such as Naver Pay points and retailer coupons. At a live broadcast on 26 August, the company also plans to offer a limited number of T Direct Shop vouchers to viewers who participate.
According to Kang Hyun-cheol, head of sales and marketing at SKT, the handset is designed to deliver key AI functions and strong performance without placing too much strain on buyers’ budgets. That message fits a wider market trend: mobile operators and handset makers are increasingly using exclusive editions, bundled perks and practical AI features to differentiate models in an intensely competitive mid-range segment.
