CMF’s Buds Neo aim squarely at the budget end of the true wireless market, but they arrive with a specification sheet that would not look out of place on more expensive models. Business Today says the earbuds combine 12.4mm drivers, up to 35dB active noise cancellation, an IP54 rating, and support for custom equaliser settings through the Nothing X app.
That combination gives the Buds Neo a clear appeal on paper, and early coverage from Gizmochina and Notebookcheck suggests CMF has focused on the features buyers now expect as standard: dual-device connectivity, low-latency gaming mode, spatial audio, and Bluetooth 6.0. The charging case also stands out, with a circular dial and lanyard hole that give the product a more recognisable identity than most entry-level rivals. Gizmochina reports a launch price of ₹1,999 in India, placing the earbuds firmly in the value segment.
Reviews have been broadly positive on sound and noise cancellation, but not without caveats. 91mobiles describes the tuning as bass-forward, with ANC that performs better than expected for the price, while FoneArena says the overall package is strongest when judged as a low-cost all-rounder rather than a direct rival to premium ANC earbuds. Business Today reaches a similar conclusion, noting that the Buds Neo sound punchy and characterful, although the mid-range lacks refinement and the audio can become harsh at higher volumes.
The practical trade-offs are also evident in day-to-day use. FoneArena and Gadgets 360 both highlight reliable connectivity and app control, including preset EQ options, touch customisation, and support for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, but reviewers also note omissions such as automatic wear detection and the absence of a physical pairing button. Battery claims remain strong, with up to 11 hours from the earbuds alone and as much as 52 hours including the case, according to CMF’s specifications as reported by Notebookcheck and others. Taken together, the Buds Neo look like a well-equipped, design-led entry in the affordable TWS market, provided buyers accept that some of the polish found in pricier models has been left out.
