The new Insta360 X6 offers riders unparalleled flexibility with 360-degree recording, enhanced hardware, and specialised motorcycle features, reshaping on-the-go filming for motorcyclists.
Insta360 has expanded the appeal of its X-series 360 camera with a model that is particularly well suited to riders. The X6 keeps the core promise of 360-degree capture: record first, decide the framing later. For motorcycle trips, that means a single mounted camera can be reframed in editing to show the road ahead, the rider, or the machine itself, rather than forcing the user to guess the right angle before departure.
That flexibility is backed by a substantial hardware update. According to Insta360 and reviews by Tom’s Guide, TechRadar and Android Authority, the X6 uses dual 1/1.1-inch Sony sensors, which the company says provide 33% more sensor area than the X5 and roughly four times the light capture per frame. It also records 360 video at up to 8K and 50fps, while supporting 10-bit colour, I-Log and Dolby Vision for more advanced post-production work.
Battery life has also been improved for longer outings. Insta360 says the 2,600mAh Xtreme Battery can deliver up to 140 minutes of 8K 360 recording at 30fps, which it describes as a 51% gain over the previous model under the same conditions. Tech reviewers say the camera also brings a redesigned body, an OLED touchscreen and stronger waterproofing, making it more practical for outdoor and action use.
Audio is another area where the X6 is clearly aimed at riders. Visordown reported that the dedicated motorcycle set adds a holographic speed display, loop-recording dashcam mode and automatic number-plate blurring. Insta360 also highlights an upgraded 360 microphone system and a Hidden Engine Mic designed to keep engine sound more present while reducing wind noise, a useful feature for footage that is meant to feel immersive rather than purely visual.
The camera is already on sale in Spain from €699, with the motorcycle bundle priced at €781. More broadly, the X6 appears to be positioned as a three-in-one device: a 360 camera, an action camera and a gimbal-style tool. For riders, its strongest selling point is not any single specification, but the ability to capture a journey without committing to one fixed perspective before the trip begins.
