Xiaomi launches the Redmi Watch 6 Lite and Redmi Watch 6 Active in France, alongside the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active, offering affordable fitness tracking with improved features for budget-conscious consumers.
Xiaomi is widening its budget wearables line-up in France with the Redmi Watch 6 Lite and Redmi Watch 6 Active, both due to go on sale from 3 September. The two models sit below the existing Redmi Watch 6 and are positioned as low-cost options for users who want fitness tracking, notifications and Bluetooth calling without moving into premium pricing. The brand is also adding the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active to the same seasonal launch.
The Redmi Watch 6 Lite is the more capable of the pair. According to Xiaomi’s product listings in Singapore and Australia, it uses a 1.96-inch AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, which should help readability in strong daylight. The watch is rated for up to 18 days of typical use from a 470 mAh battery, supports Bluetooth calling, and offers more than 150 sports modes. It is also rated 5 ATM, making it suitable for swimming. Retail listings in Portugal, Estonia and Lithuania suggest the model is already appearing across several European markets at local prices below Xiaomi’s French launch price.
Xiaomi says the Lite version includes integrated GPS with support for five positioning systems, which lets runners and walkers record routes without carrying a phone. It also tracks heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep, and offers an always-on display. The company says the watch can last around six days when GPS and the always-on screen are used together, which is a much more realistic figure for active use.
The Redmi Watch 6 Active is the cheaper model at €49.99. Xiaomi says it has a 1.85-inch AMOLED screen, 1,200 nits of peak brightness, an IP68-rated case and a 470 mAh battery with up to 18 days of claimed autonomy. It keeps the core health and exercise features, including heart-rate, SpO₂, stress and sleep monitoring, Bluetooth calls and more than 140 sports modes. Xiaomi also says it works with Android 8.0 and iOS 14.0 or later. One limitation for European buyers is that the fast-payment function available in China is not being launched in France at present.
The Smart Band 11 Active rounds out the range at €39.99. Xiaomi describes it as a lighter, more discreet device at 18 grammes, with 50 sports modes, 5 ATM water resistance, Mi Fitness integration, and synchronisation with Strava and Apple Health. Its battery life is rated at up to 21 days. Taken together, the new devices show Xiaomi trying to cover the lower end of the wearable market with simple, affordable options for everyday fitness tracking.
