Vivo expands its T-series in India with the launch of the T5 5G, featuring a 6.83-inch AMOLED display, a substantial 7,050mAh battery, and a mid-range MediaTek processor, targeting users prioritising display speed and endurance over flagship camera features.
Vivo has expanded its T-series in India with the launch of the T5 5G, a handset built around a large curved AMOLED screen, a high-capacity battery and a mid-range MediaTek platform. The company says the phone is aimed at users who want a fast display, long endurance and a slim body rather than a flagship-grade camera system.
The T5 5G goes on sale in India on 9 September via Flipkart, with Royal Bronze and Silver Green finishes. Pricing starts at Rs. 34,999 for the 6GB + 128GB version, rises to Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and Rs. 44,999 for the 8GB + 256GB trim, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is listed at Rs. 49,999. Vivo is also offering bank discounts of up to Rs. 4,000 on select cards.
In terms of hardware, Vivo says the phone uses the Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor, rather than the broader Dimensity 7000-series description used in earlier launch material. It runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, and the company promises three major operating system upgrades and five years of security patches. The display is a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Vivo also claims IP68 and IP69 protection against dust and water.
The camera package is modest by comparison with the rest of the specification sheet. There is a 50-megapixel main rear sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit and a 32-megapixel front camera, with video capture supported at up to 4K. The battery is rated at 7,050mAh and supports 44W wired charging, a combination Vivo says should deliver roughly 22 hours of video playback. The phone measures 164.42 x 75.25 x 7.99mm, weighs about 199g and includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
