Belkin has added another high-capacity option to the laptop power bank market with the UltraCharge Pro Laptop Power Bank 27K, a 27,000mAh unit aimed at people who need to keep a notebook, phone and accessories powered through a full working day. The company says the pack can add up to 22 hours of use to a MacBook Pro 14, and that it is TSA carry-on compliant for travel.
The design is unusually practical for a device in this category. Belkin has built in a 13.4-inch USB-C cable, alongside USB-C and USB-A ports, so users should not need to carry extra leads for most common devices. The power bank also includes a digital display to show remaining battery status, which is more precise than the basic indicator lights found on many rivals. According to the company, the braided cable is rated for 3,500 bends, and the enclosure uses recycled plastic.
On paper, the charging specification is the main reason this product stands out. Belkin claims a shared output of 240W, with support for charging up to three devices at once. B&H Photo Video says the unit can deliver up to 100W of passthrough charging, and lists protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuits and high temperatures. In practical terms, that makes it suitable not only for laptops and phones, but also for tablets, cameras and headphones.
The broader market for laptop power banks has become more competitive as manufacturers try to balance capacity, output and portability. TechRadar has recently highlighted similar products from Lenovo and Anker, both of which use integrated cables to reduce bag clutter and both of which target people who work away from a desk. Belkin’s model is positioned at the premium end of that category, with a US price of $149.99, or £149.99 in the UK review, and its appeal rests on combining a large battery, higher output and travel-friendly dimensions in one unit.
