Belkin unveils two new UltraCharge Pro power banks featuring semi-solid-state BoostSolid Cell technology aimed at extending battery life and improving thermal stability, signalling a potential shift in portable charging safety and longevity.
Belkin has added semi-solid-state battery technology to its portable charging line, unveiling two new UltraCharge Pro power banks at IFA 2026. The company says the BoostSolid Cell design uses a gel-like layer alongside the liquid electrolyte found in conventional lithium-ion batteries, with the aim of extending battery life, improving thermal stability and reducing the likelihood of swelling or overheating. Belkin claims the cells are engineered to last up to three times longer than standard power banks, although that durability comes at a higher price than many comparable models.
The smaller model, the UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K with BoostSolid Cell, costs $69.99 and is built around a 5,000mAh battery. Belkin says it is 40% slimmer than other 5,000mAh alternatives and is designed to attach magnetically to compatible phones while delivering up to 15W wirelessly. It also includes a USB-C port that can supply up to 22.5W when used on its own, although output falls to 5W wirelessly and 12W over cable if both charging methods are used at once.
The larger UltraCharge Pro Power Bank 10K with BoostSolid Cell is priced at $89.99 and doubles capacity to 10,000mAh. Belkin says the design is slimmer than rival products in the same class because the semi-solid-state cell offers higher energy density. It supports up to 60W charging over USB-C for a single device, and can charge as many as three devices at once using two USB-C ports and one USB-A port, albeit with reduced output when all are in use.
Belkin has also leaned into the current trend for battery displays. The 10K model includes a screen that shows battery level, power draw and internal temperature, while the 5K version focuses on portability and magnetic convenience. The broader pitch is straightforward: buyers pay more upfront, but in return get a safer-feeling battery and, Belkin says, a significantly longer useful life than a conventional power bank.
