Vivo launches the V80 Lite in Malaysia featuring an impressive 10,000mAh battery and military-grade durability, setting new standards in endurance smartphones with a Guinness World Record for longest livestream.
vivo has launched the V80 Lite in Malaysia, turning a battery-focused handset into a brief showcase of endurance rather than raw speed. The company staged the announcement at Lot 10 in Bukit Bintang and paired it with an on-site challenge involving Malaysian actor Aedy Ashraf. vivo also says the device has already been recognised by Guinness World Records for the longest electronic product testing livestream, which ran for 32 hours and 37 minutes.
The headline feature is its 10,000mAh battery, a capacity still uncommon in mainstream smartphones. According to vivo, the pack uses fourth-generation silicon anode technology and its Magic Cube Battery Packaging, with the company claiming up to 16 hours of heavy use. A 3.8K Ultra Large VC Cooling System is intended to keep temperatures under control during demanding workloads, while 44W wired charging is meant to reduce the wait between sessions. vivo also says the phone can retain at least 80% of its original capacity after six years, and that reverse charging can top up accessories such as earphones.
Durability is another major selling point. vivo says the V80 Lite has passed military-grade tests and carries IP68 and IP69 protection, including resistance to immersion, heavy rain and exposure to common liquids. The company also claims the handset can survive drops from greater heights than many rivals and that the display glass is engineered to resist thousands of scratch cycles. The Battery Life Extender mode keeps basic functions available at 1% charge, including emergency calls.
On the front, the V80 Lite uses a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour and peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits in high-brightness mode. Audio is handled by dual stereo speakers with vivo’s VEQ algorithm, while the software includes eye-comfort features aimed at late-night use and long gaming sessions. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300e platform, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and cameras comprise a 50MP Sony rear sensor, a 2MP auxiliary lens and a 32MP wide-angle front camera.
vivo Malaysia is selling the phone in Afterglow Pink, Emerald Green and Dawn Black. Pricing starts at RM1,499 for the 6GB+128GB model, rises to RM1,799 for 6GB+256GB, and reaches RM1,999 for 8GB+256GB. Pre-orders run from 3 to 11 September 2026 through vivo concept stores and online. Reports from Gadgets360 indicate that this Malaysian model is distinct from other regional V80 Lite variants, underlining how vivo is tailoring the same nameplate to different markets.
