Poco shifts focus to Indian market with localised X8 launch prioritising battery and durability

Poco unveils a customised version of the X8 in India, emphasising extended battery life and rugged features, signalling a strategic shift from global to regional prioritisation.

Poco has moved the X8 from a global announcement into an Indian sales push, launching the handset in India on 4 September with a starting price of Rs 29,999 and first sales scheduled for 11 September at 12 pm on Flipkart. That rollout comes only days after the X8 was unveiled for international markets at a starting price of $269. The central proposition is a mid-range phone that leans heavily on screen size, battery capacity and physical protection. Across launch reports, the X8 is described as using a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 2,772 x 1,280 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, covered by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Gadgets 360 added HDR10+, 12-bit colour and 3,840Hz PWM dimming to the specification sheet, while Indian launch coverage said the phone also includes Wet Touch 2.0, dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Battery capacity is plainly the feature Poco wants buyers to notice first.
