DJI launches flagship Osmo 360 II in Malaysia with unprecedented fast track and high-end features

DJI has opened pre-orders for the high-end Osmo 360 II in Malaysia, offering a free one-year DJI Care Refresh and showcasing cutting-edge 8K/60fps panoramic video capabilities, less than a month after its global debut at IFA 2026.

DJI has opened Malaysian pre-orders for the Osmo 360 II from RM2,189, pairing the launch with a free one-year DJI Care Refresh offer for eligible activations through 30 September, but without yet naming a firm local sale date. The release has come quickly. Lowyat reported that Malaysia is getting the camera less than a month after its China debut, while Hitech Century noted that the original Osmo 360 only arrived last year. That pace suggests DJI is treating 360-degree capture as a serious product line rather than a side project to its better-known action cameras and drones. (lowyat.net)

On imaging, DJI’s own wording and local coverage do not match exactly. DJI describes the Osmo 360 II as using an industry-first 1-inch square HDR image sensor, while Malaysian outlets have described the camera as using dual 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors. The company says the design improves sensor utilisation by 25% and lifts dynamic range to 14.5 stops. Lowyat added an important qualification: although that headline figure is up from 13.5 stops on the previous model, D-Log M still peaks at 13.5 stops. (dji.com)

Those changes feed into a notably broad recording spec. The Osmo 360 II captures native 8K/60fps panoramic video, 4K/240fps slow motion and single-lens 4K/120fps footage, while still photography goes up to 120MP HDR. It also offers 16K 360-degree timelapse, including a Clouds mode, alongside 8K/120fps Vortex clips and 64x Pano Slow Motion processed through DJI Studio’s AI frame interpolation. DJI is also making durability a selling point. The camera weighs 183g, carries 105GB of built-in storage and is rated waterproof to 10 metres without a housing, or 50 metres with the Invisible Waterproof Case. Wiser.my highlighted support for shooting in temperatures down to -20C. DJI says the two lenses use an ultra-hard optical film and can be replaced by the user, while Nextrift reported that this should let owners swap a damaged lens in the field instead of sending the whole unit away for repair. Battery performance is similarly pitched at longer sessions. Local reports put capacity at 2,150mAh, with DJI rating the camera for up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K/30fps recording and a recharge to 80% in 22 minutes. Nextrift and Wiser.my both say DJI’s separate Battery Extension Rod can stretch operating time to 180 minutes. For audio, the Osmo 360 II uses a four-microphone array with wind-noise reduction and can connect directly through OsmoAudio to the DJI Mic 3, Mic 2 and Mic Mini ranges. (lowyat.net)

The workflow features are aimed squarely at creators who want less manual reframing. DJI’s Spotlight Follow keeps a chosen subject centred as the camera rotates, while a new NFC touch point gives one-tap access to the DJI Mimo app for transfer or editing. Nextrift added that DaVinci Resolve users can import 360-degree files exported from DJI Studio through a dedicated plug-in. DJI is also promoting gesture commands, voice control, a double-twist start action on the selfie stick and a Sports Dashboard overlay for cycling footage. (dji.com)

In Malaysia, the camera is being sold only as bundles rather than as a bare body. Lowyat’s itemised list says the Standard Combo includes an extra Osmo Extreme Battery Plus, a protective case, cleaning cloth, spare USB-C cable and silicone lens cap, while the Limitless Riding Combo adds a heavy-duty clamp mount. The Adventure Combo adds more batteries, a battery case, a quick-release adapter mount and an invisible selfie stick. DJI’s launch incentive may matter almost as much as the hardware for early buyers. SoyaCincau BM and Wiser.my reported that customers who buy and activate an eligible Osmo 360 II between 2 and 30 September will receive DJI Care Refresh for one year, with the benefit activated within seven working days. Lowyat and Hitech Century put the promotional value of that plan at RM169 and said a two-year option costs RM289, while DJI’s own announcement says the one-year plan includes up to two replacements and the two-year version up to four, alongside warranty and shipping benefits.
