Ai+ has advanced its pre-launch strategy for the Nova 2 Power in India, revealing more specifications and design details through Flipkart and a novel review process, ahead of its official launch amidst market competition.
Ai+ has broadened its pre-launch teaser campaign for the Nova 2 Power in India, shifting the handset from an early design reveal to a more detailed product listing on Flipkart while still stopping short of naming a launch date. The latest disclosures add a 7,000mAh lithium polymer battery with 33W charging, two memory variants and three extra finishes beyond the two colours first shown in August, leaving the phone more fully outlined but not yet fully specified.
That combination suggests a battery-led addition to the Nova 2 range rather than a routine refresh. The Nova 2 Power is set to arrive in 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and will be sold through Flipkart. Gadgets 360 reported that the existing Nova 2 5G and Nova 2 Ultra 5G, launched in April, started at Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 16,999 respectively, with 6.7-inch displays, 50-megapixel-led dual rear cameras and 6,000mAh batteries. On paper, that gives the new model a clear point of difference: a larger battery than the earlier phones in the family.
At the centre of the handset is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100, a 6nm chip that has repeatedly surfaced across the preview campaign. Beebom said the processor uses four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, paired with an Arm Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. Ai+ is also pairing the chip with its own software layer, referred to in recent listings as nxtQ OS and NxtQuantum OS. The choice of silicon places the Nova 2 Power in familiar territory for the brand: 91mobiles noted that the same chipset is already used in the Nova 2 Pro 5G.
Design has been almost as prominent as specifications in the company’s messaging. Early coverage from Beebom, 91mobiles and The Tech Outlook described a dual-tone rear with Blue Fusion and Golden Blue Fusion finishes, a squircle or rounded raised camera housing, two large circular camera rings, an LED flash and an additional circular light element identified in some reports as a ring LED. Beebom also highlighted a flat frame, visible USB-C port, speaker grille, SIM tray and microphone cut-out at the bottom, while multiple reports pointed to a red-accented power button as one of the more recognisable external details.
The more unusual part of the launch process is Ai+’s decision to route the first reveal through Project Open Review 2.0 rather than a conventional spec-first announcement. According to 91mobiles, MySmartPrice and a corporate release carried by NewsVoir, the programme gives early access to reviewers, creators, journalists, technology enthusiasts and, for the first time, ethical hackers. MySmartPrice said the testing is meant to be unscripted, with no expectation of a favourable verdict, while the NewsVoir release framed the initiative as part of a wider “Trust through Transparency” push before the device reaches consumers.
That strategy appears designed to help a newer brand establish credibility in a crowded market. MySmartPrice and NewsVoir both said the first Open Review drew more than 700 registrations. In the company’s own words, Madhav Sheth, chief executive of Ai+ Smartphone and founder of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, said: “Nova 2 Power represents the next evolution of the Nova Series bringing together performance and a design identity that is distinctly its own.” He added: “With Project Open Review 2.0, we are putting the Nova 2 Power to test before it reaches the end consumer.” 91mobiles interpreted the approach in similar terms, describing it as an effort to let outside testers examine the hardware and software before buyers are asked to trust the brand’s claims.
The story has therefore moved on in stages. When the handset first appeared in late August, reports from 91mobiles, MySmartPrice and Beebom said Ai+ was holding back the display, cameras, battery, RAM and storage while promising a gradual reveal ahead of a September 2026 debut. By 7 September, the Flipkart microsite had filled in the battery size, charging rate, memory options and expanded colour line-up to five variants: Blue Fusion, Blue Gold Fusion, Deep Purple, Midnight Black and Ocean Green. The exact launch date, price, display specifications and camera details, however, still had not been announced.
What comes next is likely to be a final round of disclosures rather than a complete surprise. The remaining gaps are the ones that most directly determine value: screen quality, camera hardware and price. That matters because the Nova 2 Power is no longer just a teaser image or a chipset confirmation. It is now clearly being positioned as a longer-endurance member of Ai+’s mid-range Nova family, with a larger battery than earlier models and a marketing plan built around independent pre-release testing. Until the company puts a rupee figure and a date against it, though, the phone remains easier to place in the line-up than to judge.
