Xiaomi's Poco X8 Power introduces a massive 10,000mAh battery with rapid charging and rugged design

Xiaomi unveils the Poco X8 Power, boasting a 10,000mAh battery capable of fast wired and reverse charging, combined with rugged status and a mid-range price, setting a new standard for durability and endurance in smartphones.

Xiaomi has unveiled the Poco X8 Power, a mid-range handset built around an unusually large 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. The company says the cell supports 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging, allowing the phone to act as a power bank for other devices. It also claims endurance figures of up to 29 hours of video playback, 45 hours on Instagram and 29 days on standby.

The device carries a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a quoted HDR peak brightness of 3,500 nits. Independent specification listings from POCO and other retailers broadly align on the panel size and resolution, while also noting Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and a heavy-duty body certified to IP69K standards for dust and water resistance. Despite the oversized battery, the phone is said to measure 8.65mm thick and weigh 229g.

Inside, the Poco X8 Power uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, according to the launch material and third-party listings. The camera system combines a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 32-megapixel front camera. Software support is also a selling point: the phone runs Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, and Xiaomi says it will receive four major operating-system upgrades and six years of security updates.

For now, the launch is focused on India. Xiaomi has set pricing at $349 for the 8GB/128GB model and $381 for the 8GB/256GB version, according to the launch report, while global availability has not yet been confirmed. That places the handset in a crowded segment, but its battery capacity, fast charging and ruggedness distinguish it from more conventional mid-range rivals.
