Poco expands its flagship line in Russia with the launch of the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro, featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chips, 200MP cameras, and ultra-fast charging, targeting high-end gaming and imaging enthusiasts.
Poco has begun selling its F9 Ultra and F9 Pro smartphones in Russia, extending a launch that positions both models firmly in the flagship class. According to 3DNews, the two devices are intended to stand apart from earlier Poco handsets through brighter displays, faster processors and larger batteries, with the Ultra taking the more ambitious lead role. Poco’s global product page and independent benchmark listings broadly support that positioning.
The headline performance story is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform used in both phones, with the F9 Ultra paired with Poco’s VisionBoost D8 graphics chip. NanoReview’s benchmark listing for the Ultra shows an AnTuTu 11 score of 4,165,108, which aligns with Poco’s own claim that this is its strongest result to date. Gizmochina and FoneArena also report that the series is aimed at high-end gaming and image processing, with frame-rate enhancement features and support for high refresh rates in a growing list of titles.
Both models use AMOLED panels rated at 185Hz, but the Ultra is larger at 6.9in, while the Pro measures 6.59in. Poco says the HyperRGB sub-pixel layout is designed to deliver sharper colour reproduction with lower power draw than a conventional high-resolution panel, and the new M11 luminescent material is rated for a peak brightness of 4,500cd/m2, rising to 10,000cd/m2 for HDR content. The company also says the screens carry TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification, indicating a focus on reducing eye strain during long sessions.
Imaging is another major step up. The series introduces 200-megapixel main cameras across the line, both with optical image stabilisation. On the Ultra, that is joined by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 10x lossless zoom and 4K video at 60fps, while the Pro uses a 50-megapixel telephoto unit with 2.5x zoom and a floating lens that can focus as close as 10cm. The official specification sheet also highlights Bose-tuned audio, with a 2.1-channel speaker system on the Ultra and stereo speakers on the Pro.
Battery life and charging are equally aggressive. The Ultra uses an 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the Pro has a 6,330mAh cell. Both support 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging, along with reverse charging in both wired and wireless forms. In Russia, the F9 Ultra is priced at 74,990 roubles for 12GB and 256GB, rising to 84,990 roubles for 16GB and 512GB. The F9 Pro starts at 66,990 roubles for 12GB and 256GB, with a 12GB and 512GB version priced at 72,990 roubles.
