Adobe has launched two Japanese-language AI-driven tools in Acrobat, enabling chat-based PDF edits and audio summaries, reflecting increasing demand for intelligent document workflows.
Adobe has rolled out two Japanese-language AI features in Acrobat, adding a chat-based way to handle routine PDF edits and a new tool that turns long documents into audio summaries. The company said the functions became available on 10 September 2026.
The first feature, called “Chat-Based PDF Operations”, lets users issue conversational commands to carry out common file tasks that would otherwise require several steps. Adobe says this includes deleting pages, replacing text, adding signatures and setting passwords, with the aim of making editing, protection and sharing more straightforward.
The launch follows Adobe research conducted in 2026, which found that 79% of regular PDF users were interested in AI-powered chat control. Demand was highest for scanned-PDF OCR conversion, at 84%, and Word conversion, at 82%, suggesting that users want assistance with the most repetitive document workflows.
Adobe has also added “Generate Podcasts”, which summarises the main points of an open PDF and produces an audio file. The feature is intended for people who want to absorb long or complex material while commuting or travelling. Adobe’s help documentation says it can generate conversational summaries from documents ranging from 500 characters to 600 pages, and that podcasts in PDF Spaces update automatically when files are added or removed.
The two tools are being made available across different subscription tiers. Chat-Based PDF Operations will roll out to Acrobat Standard, Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Studio subscribers, while Generate Podcasts is included through Acrobat AI Assistant Plus or Acrobat Studio. The company had already positioned Acrobat Studio as a broader AI document platform earlier in 2026, combining Acrobat and Express capabilities with tools for creating presentations and other outputs from files.
