KeySmart unveils the SmartCard, a 1.8mm thick, rechargeable tracking card compatible with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, aiming to replace traditional wallet trackers with a more versatile and durable solution.
KeySmart is pitching its SmartCard as a practical alternative to Apple’s AirTag for people who want tracking in a form that fits a wallet. The device is only 1.8mm thick, according to KeySmart’s product pages, and is built to work with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, giving it broader compatibility than Apple’s own tracker. Tom’s Guide said the card is aimed at users who want one accessory for both iPhone and Android ecosystems.
The selling point is not just size. KeySmart says the SmartCard uses an Atlas Gen 3 chipset for faster processing and more reliable connectivity, while the rechargeable battery is designed to last for months between charges. Depending on the version, the company has described battery life as up to eight months or as long as 11 months, and it charges wirelessly on a standard Qi pad. That removes the need for disposable coin cells, which remain common in rival trackers.
Like an AirTag, the SmartCard can emit a sound to help with nearby location, while its wider network support lets owners see its last known position through the relevant crowdsourced Find My or Find Hub systems. KeySmart also says it can send left-behind alerts to connected devices and display contact details in Lost Mode. Tom’s Guide noted that this makes it more suitable for wallets, bags and other flat items than round key fob-style trackers.
The card also includes a lanyard slot for badges and security cards, which broadens its use beyond wallets. KeySmart says it carries an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it is designed to survive extended submersion, and the company positions that durability as useful for everyday wear as well as harsher conditions. The product is being sold in multi-packs, with the lead offer describing a three-pack discount from the usual retail price.
