Samsung launches the Galaxy A07s in Jordan with a surprising six-year commitment to operating system and security updates, marking a notable shift for its budget devices amidst modest hardware specifications.

Samsung has added a new budget model to its Galaxy A series, with the Galaxy A07s now on sale in Jordan and likely headed to other low-cost markets later. The launch is notable less for its price positioning than for an unusually long software promise: Samsung says the handset will receive six years of operating system and security updates, a commitment that is more commonly associated with its premium devices. According to the launch reports, the phone arrives in Black, Green and Light Violet.

The hardware is modest, but not bare bones. The Galaxy A07s uses a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, which should make everyday navigation feel smoother than on standard 60Hz screens. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99+ chip and is being sold with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with microSD expansion available for users who need more room. Reports from several outlets also note that the display is an IPS or PLS LCD type, depending on the market summary, but the core specification remains the same: an entry-level screen backed by a relatively efficient 6nm processor.

Camera and battery specifications are similarly straightforward. The rear system pairs a 50-megapixel main sensor with a 2-megapixel depth unit, while an 8-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls. A 5,000mAh battery is rated for 25W charging, and Samsung has included an IP54 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone runs Android 16-based One UI out of the box. In Jordan, the device is priced at JOD 119, or about $167, and Samsung has not yet confirmed wider regional availability.
