Anthropic’s latest update to Claude introduces integrated connectors for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, bringing AI-powered help directly into familiar work tools and shifting towards more autonomous, app-based assistance.
Claude’s connectors are designed to bring Anthropic’s chatbot closer to the services many people already use for work, planning and creative tasks. Rather than switching between tabs to find a file, check a message or pull information from a calendar, users can ask Claude to work within connected apps and services, subject to the permissions of the signed-in account. Anthropic also makes the feature available on the web, desktop and mobile, with deeper integration possible through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP.
In practice, the most established connectors are for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. According to Anthropic’s support pages, Google integration covers Drive, Gmail and Google Calendar, letting Claude search documents, review files, draft and manage emails, and handle calendar events without leaving the chat. Microsoft 365 support extends to SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook and Teams, giving Claude access to documents, email, calendars and meeting-related material inside a work account, again within the user’s existing access rights.
Claude’s other connectors broaden the system beyond office productivity. Notion support is aimed at searching, creating, editing and organising workspace content. Canva is designed to let users turn written instructions into visual work, while Adobe’s creative apps bring Claude into Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Firefly, Premiere, Express and InDesign for tasks such as image adjustment and asset organisation. Reporting from gadgets360.com and Tom’s Guide suggests Anthropic has been pushing these connectors as part of a wider move towards more autonomous, app-based AI assistance.
The consumer-facing options are more varied. Spotify can be used to find music and podcasts by mood, activity or genre, and in some cases to build playlists and manage playback on connected devices. Trello support helps turn ideas into tasks, whether for trip planning or weekly work lists. Tripadvisor can help with hotel research, comparisons and attraction searches, while Audible is focused on audiobook discovery and sampling.
Finding and enabling connectors is meant to be straightforward. On mobile, users open the connector area from the chat interface, choose a service and link it. On the web, the process runs through the add-connectors menu in the same conversation view. For enterprise accounts, however, an administrator must first allow connector use before employees can connect their own accounts, which means availability may depend on workplace policy as much as on the app itself.
That permission model is one of the more important safeguards. Anthropic’s documentation makes clear that Claude does not gain access to data a user could not already see in the original service. The result is a useful but bounded system: helpful for reducing repetitive copy-and-paste work, but still constrained by the permissions, regional availability and feature set of each connected platform.
