Lenovo has introduced the IdeaPad Slim 5 14ARP10 with a high-spec OLED display and upgradeable features in select European markets, signalling a move towards more versatile ultrabooks despite limited US availability.
Lenovo has begun selling the IdeaPad Slim 5 14ARP10 in parts of Europe, with Germany and Austria among the first markets, while company documentation indicates that no US launch is planned. The 14-inch model sits in the middle of Lenovo’s thin-and-light line-up, but its configuration is unusually flexible for the class, mixing an OLED panel with user-upgradeable memory and storage.
The display is a 1,920 x 1,200 OLED unit with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits of brightness, full DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. That specification suggests Lenovo is positioning the machine as a compact productivity laptop with stronger contrast and colour performance than many conventional LCD rivals, while keeping the refresh rate at 60Hz.
Under the bonnet, the notebook uses AMD’s Ryzen 5 7533HS, a six-core, 12-thread chip based on the older Rembrandt Refresh design, paired with Radeon 660M graphics. Tom’s Hardware notes that the processor supports DDR5-4800 and LPDDR5-6400 memory, although Lenovo’s own specification sheet for this model is centred on two SODIMM slots and a maximum of 32GB of DDR5-4800 RAM, alongside two M.2 SSD bays for storage expansion.
Battery capacity is 60Wh, and Lenovo claims more than 18 hours of local 1080p video playback at 150 nits. The laptop weighs 1.39kg and measures 313.4 x 222 x 16.9mm, which keeps it in portable territory despite the upgrade options. In Europe, the starting price is €999, including tax, a level that places it against premium consumer ultrabooks rather than budget machines.
