Canva introduces ProSuite, expanding its professional design ecosystem with new features in Affinity 3.3 that prioritise RAW processing, automation, and creative control, while integrating AI capabilities through recent acquisitions.
Canva has rolled out ProSuite, a broader professional design offering that links Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish and Leonardo and adds a claimed 100 features across the platform. For photographers, the key release is Affinity 3.3, which remains free to use and now places much more emphasis on RAW processing, tonal control and repeatable workflows.
Duncan Clark, Canva’s chief executive for Pro Design, said the company had built the launches around feedback from working creatives. “We’re genuinely excited to be releasing such a huge swathe of new tools for professional designers, animators, photographers and other advanced users,” he said. Clark added that the aim was to provide tools that improve precision and remove repetitive work, while arguing that “professional craft matters more than ever”. Canva has also expanded its professional stack through acquisitions, including Cavalry, the 2D motion design tool now folded into the wider ecosystem, and MangoAI, which is intended to strengthen its AI capabilities.
Affinity 3.3 brings several features that should matter to serious photo editors. The new Blend Tool is designed to simplify complex compositing work, while scripting support allows users to automate repetitive pixel, vector and layout tasks. More importantly for photographers, the RAW development engine has been upgraded to produce faster processing with improved handling of exposure, shadows and highlights, alongside more natural colour and tone rendering.
Canva says Curves in Affinity are now hue-preserving, reducing unwanted colour shifts when adjusting luminance. Separate hue and saturation curves have also been added, borrowing from techniques more commonly associated with video colour grading. There are new global presets for batch work, and a dedicated Astrophotography Studio has been introduced for users processing night-sky images. Affinity remains free to download on macOS and Windows, though some AI tools still sit behind a paid Canva subscription.
