Samsung’s latest software update, One UI 9, is rolling out unevenly across markets, with some regions experiencing delays while others receive the upgrade, signalling potential shifts in global rollout strategies.
Samsung’s latest software rollout has become uneven across markets, with the stable One UI 9 release reaching some Galaxy S26 users while other regions remain without a firm timetable. According to Samsung’s own announcements, the update began with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, first in South Korea, before plans to widen distribution in the following weeks. The release adds a revised Quick Panel, improved DeX window management, new Notes tools, additional Game Booster controls and broader Galaxy AI features.
The schedule has been less straightforward outside Korea. In Thailand, Samsung initially indicated a September 21 launch for the Galaxy S26 series, then shifted that date to September 28 before removing the day entirely and replacing it with a more general promise of a September release. Samsung has not explained the change, leaving open whether the revision reflects a local delay or a broader adjustment to the global plan. Tech site SamMobile said the company has not confirmed any postponement.
At the same time, the rollout has clearly not stopped everywhere. Users in the United States reported receiving the stable build on the Galaxy S26 Ultra on T-Mobile, with the package weighing about 4.1GB and including Samsung’s September security patch. Android Central said unlocked models, along with devices on AT&T and Verizon, had not yet shown the update, suggesting the American launch is still being phased in carrier by carrier.
Samsung says One UI 9 will continue to reach more Galaxy phones and foldables over the coming weeks, including devices that took part in the beta programme. In Thailand, the Galaxy S25 series and the Z7 foldables are still expected to receive the update during September, with older models to follow later. Samsung Brazil has also publicised the launch, but has not given a specific date for local users, leaving many owners to wait for country-by-country confirmation.
