Acer has unveiled a new 14-inch TravelMate P4, offering enhanced Intel Panther Lake technology, upgraded displays, and significant discounts, targeting business users seeking lightweight, configurable laptops for office and travel.
Acer has added a new 14-inch TravelMate P4 to its business laptop range, positioning it as a successor to the previous Arrow Lake-based generation and alongside the TravelMate P4 Spin unveiled in March. According to the Arabic report on 25h.app, the new model uses Intel’s Panther Lake platform and is already on sale in North America, where the entry configuration starts with a Core Ultra 5 322 processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory, a 512GB SSD and a 1,200p IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. Although the official starting price is $1,799, retailers are already discounting the machine by $300, bringing the launch price down to $1,499.
Higher-end versions widen the choice of display and processor. The same report says Acer is also offering a Core Ultra 7 355 model with the same 16GB memory and 1,200p screen for $1,699 after a $300 reduction from the list price of $1,999. Buyers can instead choose a sharper 1,800p IPS panel in the same 16:10 format, rated at 400 nits but limited to 60Hz, paired with the Core Ultra 7 355 for $1,749 after a $350 discount from the suggested price of $2,099. Across the range, Acer says the memory and storage are user-upgradeable, with RAM support rising to 64GB.
The new TravelMate keeps the line’s practical approach to business hardware, but in a smaller and lighter form factor than some earlier models reviewed by PCWorld, TechRadar and Notebookcheck. Those reviews of previous TravelMate P4 and Spin P4 machines consistently pointed to solid performance, strong battery life, broad connectivity and a chassis aimed at office work rather than premium flair, while also noting compromises such as weaker webcams, modest speakers or less impressive touchpads. Notebookcheck’s earlier testing also found that the series generally stays quiet and cool under typical productivity loads, though it is not designed for sustained heavy processing.
Acer has paired the new model with a 65Wh battery and a portable chassis. According to 25h.app, the 1,800p version weighs 1.19kg, while the 1,200p variants come in at 1.33kg, making the laptop relatively light for a business machine with upgradeable memory and storage. For buyers focused on office work, travel and mixed productivity use, the combination of new Intel silicon, configurable displays and aggressive launch discounts suggests Acer is targeting the same practical audience that has long defined the TravelMate range.
