Adobe has launched its Premiere mobile video editing app on Android, offering free, full-featured editing with AI tools, 4K exports, and seamless integration with desktop versions, marking a significant step for mobile video creators.
Adobe has brought its Premiere mobile video-editing app to Android, extending a product that first appeared on iPhone almost a year earlier. According to Adobe’s announcement and reporting by TechSpot and Business Standard, the app is available free of charge and is positioned as a full-featured editor for people who want to cut video on a phone without moving to a laptop.
The Android version centres on a multi-track timeline with frame-accurate editing, letting users layer clips, music, voice-over, text and effects in a single project. Adobe says the app also includes audio-clean-up tools, such as Enhance Audio, alongside transitions, templates and access to Adobe Stock assets. Google Play’s listing and coverage from Gadgets 360 confirm that exports can reach 4K without watermarks, while the app avoids ads and forced sign-in prompts.
Adobe has also built its Firefly generative AI features into the mobile editor, including tools such as Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and Generate Sound Effects. The company says these advanced features use generative credits, which can be expanded through optional paid plans that also provide extra cloud storage. That approach keeps the core editor free, while reserving heavier AI use for paying customers.
The Android launch is likely to matter most to users already embedded in Adobe’s workflow. Adobe says projects can move between mobile and desktop Premiere, which makes the app more useful for photographers and video creators who start edits on the move and finish them on a computer. For now, the software is limited to devices running Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM, and Adobe says more functions are coming, including Adobe Fonts, improved captions, keyframes, cropping and beat detection.
