Anker’s latest Eufy SoloCam E50 integrates dual 4K lenses, 360-degree coverage, and advanced AI for enhanced outdoor surveillance, without subscription fees.
Anker has launched the Eufy SoloCam E50, a solar-powered outdoor security camera that combines dual 4K lenses with a motorised pan-and-tilt head. The device sits within Eufy’s Edge 5.0 Yard Protection System, a broader family of five products intended to cover different parts of a property and link with the HomeBase S380 hub. According to the company, the range is designed to give homeowners broader visibility across both indoor and outdoor spaces.
The SoloCam E50 is positioned above the earlier SoloCam E40, which used a single fixed 2K camera and stored footage on 8GB of built-in memory. In contrast, the new model uses two lenses: one wide-angle unit with a 135-degree field of view for general monitoring, and a telephoto lens for closer inspection. Eufy says the camera’s 12-times hybrid zoom can identify faces or number plates from roughly 12 metres away.
Anker says the camera head can pan through 348 degrees and tilt by 70 degrees, which it markets as full 360-degree coverage. When both camera feeds are shown side by side in the app, resolution drops to 2K; users need single-view mode to see or download footage in full 4K. That makes the device more flexible for live monitoring, but also reflects the practical limits of its dual-lens layout.
The camera’s AI tracking system, called Eufy OmniTrack, is designed to detect people and vehicles and then turn the lens towards them automatically. A separate auto-framing function zooms in on a lone person and widens the frame again when additional people enter the scene. Eufy does not advertise pet detection on this model.
For motion detection, Anker combines millimetre-wave radar with a passive infrared sensor. The company says the radar can also pick up stationary people and is meant to ignore common sources of false alerts such as shadows, sun glare and moving branches. Radar coverage is rated at 120 degrees and about 12 metres. If activity is detected, the camera can trigger a spotlight, a red-and-blue flashing light and a siren. At night, recording can switch between infrared mode and colour capture with the spotlight enabled.
Power comes from a 10,000mAh battery that charges through a 5W SolarPlus 2.0 panel using MPPT charging technology. The panel can be mounted directly on the camera or installed separately on a wall or beneath an overhang to capture better sunlight. Connectivity is handled over 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi, and Eufy says outdoor wireless range can reach up to 200 metres. The camera is rated IP65 for weather resistance.
Footage is stored locally on a microSD card of up to 512GB, which is sold separately. Eufy says there is no subscription fee for the core functions, although the HomeBase S380 unlocks extra features including expandable hard drive storage, face recognition, cross-camera tracking and security reports. Support covers Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, but not Apple HomeKit. The camera also does not support continuous 24/7 recording.
In the US, Anker has set the price at the equivalent of around €200 before tax, but it has not yet announced an official euro price for Germany. The company is also offering multi-camera bundles, including a two-camera set and a four-camera package with the HomeBase S380.
